blue moon

A moonlit night is oft described as silvery, defined by a pale sickle or floating saucer illumining the blue-black sky.  It can represent a comforting presence against dark uncertainties; a radiant yet cooler liquid shine than the gilded sunbeams that saturate our uncloudiest of days.  As if cooked up in a steep homemade mountain still by a hillbilly brewmeister, spilled down upon the lands like the stuff of myth and fantasy, this lunar essence almost seems of magic origin.  Rationally, scientifically, we know better.  It is, however, fun to romanticize and fantasize and

imperfect

Let me state unequivocally that if you were hoping to read something perfect, sorry, not gonna happen.  I write to my own beat, an irregular rhythm that doesn't follow rules, it simply flows and pulses and is.  That doesn't excuse accidental mistakes of spelling, punctuation or grammar.  But my perception of those things may differ from yours too and besides that, nothing is perfect.  Ever.  So the sooner you accept it, the sooner you can stop expecting it and being disappointed by life and the people in yours.  Whether friends, relatives, significant others, neighbors (o

reverie

Have you ever dreamed while standing up?  How about while standing down?  And how do you know that you aren't dreaming this very instant?  You could just think you're reading this.  Or I might think you're reading it because that happens to be the dream of any writer, to be read.  Maybe you are actually a hopeful figment of my dream.  And what if, simultaneously, I were a wishful part of yours?  Have you ever dreamed that you were dreaming?  And in that dream you had a dream?  What if all this talk of dreams causes you to fall asleep and dream?

Nothing!

That is the answer.  So what is the question?  What's on my mind?  I think not.  There is generally some absurd notion or other ping-ponging in my head, bouncing off the inside of my skull.  What's up?  More preposterous still, for there is so very much up, so very much out there, whether going on around us or dangling suspended above us in the cosmos.  Is it what you'd reply prior to taking a backseat daredevil spin down a mountainside in a motorless go-cart if somebody asks, "What do you hope to gain?"  We all do foolish things.  As an author I remain

thoughtlessness

Have you ever had to walk around without a thought in your skull?  How about an absent mind?  It occurs to me.  I can be a very thoughtless person.  I'm kind of used to it, in fact . . . . . . . . . . . .

happy endings

Reality check:  Life is not a fairytale in case you weren't aware, and it isn't always fair.  Sometimes it ends badly.  Sometimes it begins badly.  Sometimes the middle goes from bad to worse.  Which is not quite as bad as from worse to dismal, and certainly not as bad as from dismal to abysmal.  So cheer up if things get worse.  They're usually not as bad as they might be if they were even worse than worse!

Just trying to be positive.
